2016年2月18日英国剑桥 — 作为世界领先的边界扫描技术供应商，XJTAG®在德国纽伦伯格举办的嵌入式大会上正式发布 XJTAG DFT Assistant for Altium Designer® 工具．该工具由XJTAG开发，基于Altium Designer的免费软件扩展包，将会极大地增加这个原理图和PCB设计系统的DFT能力．
现代印刷电路板上元件的安装密度在不断增加，事实上直接访问如BGA或者LGA这类芯片的管脚是不可能的．这就给必须通过物理端子连接到一个节点或者测试点的测试设备带来了极大地挑战．边界扫描正是为解决此类问题应运而生的恰当方案，所以在设计阶段导入边界扫描链路就变得至关重要，而基于Altium Designer的XJTAG DFT Assistant共计将会通过与Altium Designer的深度整合，以帮助验证边界扫描链路的连接的正确性．

XJTAG DFT Assistant有两项关键的组件： XJTAG链路检查器（XJTAG Chain Checker）和XJTAG Access查看器（XJTAG Access Viewer）；
XJTAG链路检查器可以发现如TAP的连接错误这样在JTAG扫描链路中常见的问题．一个错误的连接可以可能导致整个扫描链无法工作．XJTAG链路检查器可以发现连接错误，并且将错误报告实时呈现开发人员．与此同时，不正确的TAP终端设计也会被发现．
XJTAG Access Viewer把整个边界扫描链路在原理图上显示出来，允许用户实时的看到哪些器件在边界扫描链路中，以及在哪些地方可以提高测试覆盖率；

边界扫描作为IEEE 1149.x系列的标准协议，被所有业界领先的半导体制造厂商所采用．边界扫描通过边界扫描链路可以访问到PCB上复杂的IC．简单的4个或5个引脚的总线可以用来依次连接JTAG兼容的器件．通过边界扫，用户可以访问到被JTAG器件所控制非JTAG的器件，以完成连接性和功能测试，与此同时还可以对非掉电存储器和FPGA/CPLD在线编程；
从原型机的开发到量产的测试，边界扫描可以检测到大范围的错误，比如短路，开路，钳制在高或者低电平，以及没有安装的上拉或者下拉电阻．XJTAG的产品也可以在不需要物理连接到Pin或者昂贵的ICT测试机，飞针或者针床的前提下，定位出错的网表．
